Ways of working together.

All therapy with me is one-to-one. The form and pace of the work is something we agree together, in a way that suits what you're bringing.

Individual psychotherapy

50 minutes · weekly

I offer ongoing weekly sessions for adults who want to do meaningful, depthful work: to understand themselves more clearly, to grieve what needs grieving, to grow into who they're becoming.

Open-ended therapy doesn't mean endless. It means we don't pre-decide where it will go or when it will end. We let the work take the shape it needs to take. Many clients work with me for a year or two; some for longer; some for less. We review together along the way.

  • Suitable for anxiety, depression, grief, relational difficulties, identity questions, and longer-standing patterns
  • Held weekly at the same time and day, for continuity
  • In person at private consulting rooms on London's Regent Street, or online via secure video

Pain reprocessing therapy (PRT)

Set number of sessions · weekly

A structured piece of work for those living with chronic pain, including migraines, back ache, fibromyalgia, pelvic pain, joint pain and repetitive strain injury (RSI), as well as other chronic conditions such as IBS, chronic fatigue syndrome and interstitial cystitis. Once medical routes have been explored, PRT can help retrain the brain and break the cycle of chronic pain.

We will agree a set number of 50-minute sessions at the outset, held weekly at the same time. Between sessions, the work includes homework and recommended reading, so that progress continues beyond the room. You can find out more about PRT here.

  • A set number of sessions, agreed together at the outset
  • Held weekly at the same time, in person or online
  • Includes homework and recommended reading between sessions

Short-term therapy

8–12 sessions · weekly

A defined piece of work, focused on a particular concern. We agree at the outset what you'd like to explore, and meet for a set number of 50-minute sessions to do so.

Short-term work suits people facing a specific situation or transition: a difficult decision, the aftermath of a particular event, a stuck point in an otherwise functioning life. It also suits people who want to test the experience of therapy before committing to longer work.

  • Best for a clearly defined focus rather than open exploration
  • Includes an initial scoping session and a closing review
  • Can transition into open-ended work if both of us feel it's right

Online therapy

50 minutes · weekly

Therapy by secure video, for clients across the UK. Online work has its own particular quality; there's an intimacy in showing one another into our private spaces, and many clients find it works as well as in-person therapy, sometimes better.

We use a confidential, GDPR-compliant platform. All you need is a quiet space, a stable connection, and 50 minutes you can give fully to yourself.

  • Available across all UK time zones
  • Some evening slots available
  • Same depth of relational work as in-person sessions

Introductory call

15 minutes · free

Before we begin any therapy, I offer a free 15-minute conversation by phone or video. It's not a clinical session and there's nothing to prepare. We'll just talk a little about what's bringing you to therapy and what you're looking for.

The call is as much for you as for me. Therapy depends on the fit between client and therapist, and there's no way to know that without speaking. There's no obligation to book afterwards, and if I don't feel I'm the right therapist for you I'll say so and suggest where else to look.

  • Free, with no commitment
  • Phone or video, whichever you prefer
  • Usually available within a week of enquiry

A little more on the approach.

Gestalt is a humanistic, relational therapy that grew out of the wider therapy traditions of the mid-twentieth century. The German word Gestalt means a whole, a complete form, something that's more than the sum of its parts.

In therapy, that idea translates into an attention to the whole of you: not just what you think, but what you feel, how your body holds itself, what's happening in this moment, and how you make contact with others, including with me.

A gestalt session can feel different from what people expect of therapy. We may notice and slow down what's happening between us. We may pay attention to a phrase, a tone, a gesture you weren't aware of. We may experiment together, trying a different way of saying something, or letting something unfinished have its voice.

The aim is always the same: not to give you my answers, but to help you explore your own.

Not sure which would suit you?

That's exactly what the introductory call is for. We can talk through what you're hoping to address and figure it out together.
